The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was seated in his car on the street when shots were fired from a vehicle traveling east on Maple Street. Officers immediately rendered medical aid until the victim could be transported to an area hospital, where he is presently listed in stable condition. Upon arrival, officers located a 65-year-old male Champaign resident with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his arm. on Thursday, July 28, 2022, for a report of a shooting with injury. Officers from the Champaign Police Department were dispatched to the 800-block of Maple Street at 12:59 a.m.
