Polymer synthesizer Updates for The Grid and Polymerįurthermore, the Bitwig Studio 4.3 update includes two new modules for The Grid and the Polymer synth. Thanks to Bitwig’s nested structure, you can also insert other devices or VST plug-ins into the feedback loop, which allows you to create unique-sounding delays unlike anything else. There’s also a built-in ducking feature that reduces the delay when the input level increases.
Moreover, various blur options can turn the delay into diffuse, reverb-like textures. Bitwig says that it lets you set the delay in milliseconds or beats, and you can nudge each channel independently to create stereo effects. The second new device is Delay+, a versatile stereo delay. You can also adjust the color, tone, and width of the effect. Any audio can be used as an impulse, which opens up many creative sound design opportunities. However, the developer says that you can use Convolution creatively to create much more than reverb. According to Bitwig, it comes with 270 ready-made impulse responses. The new Convolution device is a versatile IR loader that can of course be used for convolution reverbs. It includes two new devices for adding space and dimension to your tracks and mixes, along with a couple of new Grid and Polymer modules for expanded sound design possibilities. Hinting at some of the new features introduced in Bitwig Studio 4.3, the developer has themed the update “Space & Tone”.
